Women's Caucus for Art is holding The Second Annual T-Shirt Pattern Competition every bit a WCA fundraiser. The theme is Evocative Visions. The designs should evoke a feminist perspective and vision that advocates for women's rights and equality as expressed by the power and vision of Women'south Caucus for Art's diversity, reach, and impact. WCA will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary in 2022! Then, designs that promote our 50th Anniversary volition be specially appreciated. The contest is for WCA members and the winning designer will receive 30% of the profit from the sales of the t-shirts. The design will be printed on high quality t-shirts that will be fabricated available for sale to members and friends via the fundraising platform, Custom Ink. The designs will exist judged by the WCA Executive Lath. Entry for submissions opens on May 1 and closes on June 30. Submissions should be formatted as jpg and the maximum file size is 5MB. ✨Announcing WCA's New President Elect: Sandra Davis✨ For the past ten years Sandra has been focusing on her art career while simultaneously working for the fiscal services industry. She has been focusing on the apply and experimentation of mixed media, utilizing components like acrylics, fabric, plant paper, paper and magazines keeping a "recycled" theme. Her current work is a direct response to issues happening in our state, including present grievances, inequality, housing, faith, teaching and identity of others are all common themes. Sandra has recently created an interview series highlighting members of WCA DC and has begun to create curatorial projects to support her focus and to encourage dialogue. 1 of the highlights of Sandra'due south work is the ability to partner and share fine art with women's shelters, churches, schools, and corporate environments. Fine art belongs to everyone not just galleries and museums. Sandra attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh from 1978-1981. She resides in Gaithersburg, MD with her husband and two adult children. Concluding yr, we started a t-shirt fundraiser with the goal of selling 100 t-shirts. We met our goal! Thirty percent of the proceeds went to Durba Sen, the artist with the winning design.
